I have offered supervision since 2016 using individual and dyadic supervision focused on clinical skill development, the role of the therapist, understanding differing racial or ethnic identities, and ethical dilemmas. My prior experience providing supervision includes supervising master’s level mental health counseling, rehabilitation counseling, and social work interns, as well as credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors, case managers and more junior LAPCs and LPCs. Following the receipt of the Approved Clinical Supervisor Credential, I provide dyadic, triadic and individual supervision to aspiring counselors through my practice.
My approach to supervision is an integration of several psychotherapy-based models (psychodynamic, person-centered), developmental models (almost exclusively IDM) and the reflective supervision model. However, as an experienced counselor, I understand the need to be able to adapt to the needs of the supervisee based on their professional goals and objectives.
